Update of quickness
May. 26th, 2006 10:53 amOK, I'm here in Kemmerer, at the library, because the government's usual efficiency won't let me use the internet at work until they make me take a test that I signed up for on my _first day_ but I still haven't gotten the codes for. Blah.
Thesis update: Defense is done, but the thesis is not. It needs at least one more complete rewrite. *cries* But I should have some time this summer.
Work update: Rain on sagebrush smells like heaven. Oil shale smells like gasoline. I'm starting to see fossil _Knightia_ and _Diplomystus_ fish in my sleep. My roomies are cool and made me chocolate muffins for my birthday.
Speaking of which, I'm 24 now. I feel oddly unfulfilled.
Hike of doom was not actually of doom, just windy and dusty and mosquito-y, which is not the same thing. I have the day off today, and we're going into Evanston as soon as I get back, so we can watch X3. I am under oath not to say a word about it until Chris sees it on Wednesday night. :-)
House update: I'm going to make an offer on a nice little 3-bed, 1-bath house in Lubbock. This makes me both excited and scared. I've never done anything like this before, but owning my own home will make me feel like I've actually accomplished something in my life... or something. I actually came to the library today to get the contract from my email.
Connections update: My cell phone doesn't work well at quarters and is roaming in Kemmerer, so don't call me there. Those of you who have facebook can find my land line number there, and my address may be found at the Fossil Butte National Monument website if you desperately want to send me something. (postcards good! I like hearing from people!) Internet is spotty these days, though I may start coming to the library more on my days off. Theoretically I can get dial-up at the house, but it hasn't worked yet. I'll be able to check email more often once I get this stupid test taken.
OK, I'm out of internet time for now and we need to get to Evanston for Chinese food and a movie and shopping at *gasp* Wal-Mart! Fun and joy.
