I was just offered--and just accepted--a job at Fossil Butte National Monument, in Kemmerer, Wyoming! Yay! It feels good to know that I can hold up in a competitive situation like that. *beams*
It's going to be interesting--I work every weekend by definition of the job description, I have to start on May 22nd (which means I'll miss Whitman's graduation this year--sad!), and it's nine and a half hours from home and 11 or so from Hays, so there won't be much visiting... but it's supposed to be a beautiful part of the country, it's three hours from Dinosaur National Monument, which I've never been to, it's two hours from Salt Lake City, so I can indulge in city culture if I need it, it has a regular schedule, and I get to wear a swanky Park Ranger uniform, which makes me inordinately happy. :-)
I just wrote to Angie out at Thermopolis... I hope I don't come off as too much of a jerk for turning down the job there.
And in other news, I'm darned close to having a first draft of my thesis absolutely, completely done. In fact, I'm going to work on it right now.
